As Christians, Easter is such a unique and special time.
But sometimes we can take a glance at the events surrounding Easter and be so familiar with them that we miss the reality and impact of these events on our daily lives. Also if we have not had a personal revelation of the work of Jesus on the cross, the power and potential of Easter can truly be missed. My prayer is that you see the message of Easter with fresh eyes.
Only days before Jesus himself was crucified, proclaimed as dead and buried, Jesus stood outside the tomb of one of his closest friends named Lazarus and declared of himself “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” John 11:25.
Then in response to Jesus’ words, four-days-deceased Lazarus rose from the dead. In the next instalment we see Jesus himself dead. As you know “God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip” (Acts 2:24). PRAISE GOD!
In the same way because of your belief in Jesus, your life now and beyond the grave is a story from death to life – resurrection life. Nothing in this world, nothing of this present age will have the final say in your life.
As we approach Easter, can I encourage you to see the work of Jesus with fresh eyes? Hear him speak to you about His love and grace and his fresh life -giving presence. Bring all your dead or decaying areas of your life to him and allow him to bring them ‘back to life’.
God Bless, Pastor Jono
